Are you ready for April’s number? We have made it through the first three months of 2023. How’s your progress coming on your quilt ufo list? Remember, this is supposed to be a fun way to motivate us to finish some of the projects on our list. Making a game out of it helps to bring out my competitive side.

The Number Drawn: 1

The number drawn for April is number 1. I am so excited about this project. The 6-Pointed star pattern was one that I thought was going to be challenging to do. There are a couple of tricks that will make the process much easier. It has become one of my favorites. I found that I have 12 completed hexagons and 44 partial ones, along with 77 diamonds. We will see if I need to cut out any more diamonds. I don’t have any more fabrics used for the stars, but that’s ok. I have enough of the print to finish what I need. It will make a great lap quilt or wall-hanging. I am working on a scrappy version in holiday colors.

It will mean being creative with my time heading into my busy season. Usually, I can squeeze out 15 or 20 minutes to quilt 4 or 5 times a week. It is incredible how much I can accomplish in that amount of time.

What is your April project?

I would love to hear about what you are working on. It helps to keep me motivated. Once in a while, I end up adding another pattern to my to-do list. Actually, I often add another pattern to my to-do list. Different patterns and color combinations spark my creativity.
