March Quilt UFO
Welcome to March, everyone! Today is the day that we can start on our Quilt UFO for March. The 29th of February gave us snow that had been missing the whole winter season. It looked like a winter wonderland. But March came in with unseasonably warm temperatures and lots of sunshine. It has been an interesting winter here, to say the least.
Quilt UFO Progress
I hope you have been able to tackle some of your projects so far. Even though I am using the whole year to tackle some of mine, I still like the forward movement I am making. The machine quilting is making the biggest impact. I can visually see that the pile of quilts on the shelf is getting smaller. While I do have two bindings to do, those go fairly quickly in the evening.
This quilt is one of the larger quilts, so I expect it to take most of the month to complete. I have been avoiding the larger ones, but it is time to tackle them before the weather warms up.
Jack’s Chain
I am enjoying the way the 9-Patches are turning out. They are just pastel enough to give that old-time feel to the quilt. I should have the majority of the 9-Patches done in the next two months, then move on to the trickier part of the piecing. You can see that I have already started with the pile on the far right.
Foundation Piecing Quilt UFO
This is the project that I try to finish at the beginning of the month. If I can plan out a couple of hours with no interruptions, I am usually done quickly. I love the way they are turning out, and I am looking forward to putting the smaller units together.
Sunday, it looks like I have a couple of hours to focus on this quilt UFO. Today is not the day to plan with this one. I have a toddler running around and demanding my attention. I wouldn’t trade the time with her for anything. That project will still be there, but the one-year-old will change so much in such a short time.
Share a post or a picture of the Quilt UFOs you’ve worked on, completed, or started since the new year. I am hoping to add another scrap quilt pattern to the website in the next month or so. I have several all cut out, waiting for some sewing time.
Enjoy your March 1st. Ours came in like a lamb, so we will see what we end up with at the end of the month.
Until next time.
