Star Blocks – Spinning Variable Star Quilt Block Pattern
Welcome to Quilting With Tamara! The Spinning Variable Star Block is a beautiful block for a quilt. You give the block the look of movement with color placement – hence the name. You can easily turn this into a scrappy pattern. Keep the fabrics within the block consistent, but use a variety of fabrics across the quilt top.
Variations on the Variable Star Quilt Block
With the Variable Star Block, you will find many variations online. It is easy to add other blocks, such as a 4-Patch in the center or the corners. Play around with the colors – add more! Use large scale print for the inside of the SIAS (Square in a Square) block.
Spinning Variable Star is a One-Block Quilt
Spinning Variable Star Block is a one-block commitment. It provides the opportunity to play with colors and design without the pressure of a full-size quilt. Utilizing just this block can still give you a quilt with movement and interest. Instead of quilt size, think of placemat or table runner size. Adding a couple of small borders will frame the blocks nicely.

Due to some issues with embedding the pdf file for the quilt block direction, I have switched to the link instead. It should open on a new page. From that page, you can download or print the pattern. Please let me know if you have any issues with it. You can send me a message through my contact page or on Facebook Messages.
