Last Quilt UFO Project for 2023
Well, I am hoping that you conquered a project or two this year. Ultimately, it was all about tackling our projects in one form or another. I try to remember what my sewing area looked like before I accomplished some quilt UFO busting, especially since I still have too many projects on the shelf.
Nevertheless, I will always be that type of quilter/crafter who has multiple projects going on at once. Inspiration will hit me from a variety of areas of life. Social media is a big influencer for my projects, be it Pinterest or my groups on Facebook. Color combinations, secondary patterns, and different ways to do blocks – all inspire me in one way or another.
December’s Quilt UFO number is 2
My project this month will be the Ribbons and Roses Peeled Back quilt that I was on my list to do a couple of months ago. I ended up finishing a completely different quilt, so now to play catch-up.
How wonderful it will be to get this quilt done and the binding complete. I am making room in my schedule to finish things up!
Time to Organize?!?!
The end of one year and the beginning of another provides me the opportunity to organize and prepare for what’s next. For me, I love walking into an organized room, but if I want to be inspired, I need color, patterns, and designs around me. These two situations battle each other; too much and I am overwhelmed, too little, and I feel little creativity. It is a delicate balance that I often fail at. So much creative chaos happening in my sewing room.
Color inspires me; the hand-dyed fabrics on a shelf point to that. Conversely, projects laid out quickly overwhelm me. This is what led me to use the photo storage boxes to put my projects in. They are labeled and handy to get to, but I am not distracted by all the chaos. It is never too late to learn what works best for us.
Until next time.
