November Quilt UFO
Just two months before the new year—actually less than two months—how are you doing on your Quilt UFO List? I took a bit of a turn when attempting to finish up the Quilt UFOs for this year. This little pup (Buster) has loved sleeping on the table when I am piecing. As soon as I sit down at the machine, he wants to be up there on a cuddly blanket.
Foundation Piecing
I spent a day finishing all the paper-piecing parts of this quilt UFO. To be honest, I’m probably not going to get to the point of putting both of them together. I’m just pleased to be done with the foundation piecing part!
It is surprising that the pieces don’t take up more room in the basket. In my head, this was such a huge project, but looking at the basket, there really aren’t that many parts. The basket has the foundation piecing for two projects!
Jack’s Chain Quilt UFO
So, this month, I will continue to make the rows for this quilt. I am thinking of having the pattern fit the bed top, then a wide plain border, and finally, a pieced border that compliments the pattern. None of these plans are set in stone. Once I have the basic top together, I may change my mind. I completed almost 20 rows last month. Once I know I have enough to cover the top of the bed; I will start the process of putting the rows together.
Machine Quilting
I have finally finished September’s machine quilting project. I loaded the October project and started quilting yesterday. So, it is progress, but I am still behind. The quilt on the machine now is one of the scrappy patterns: Scrappy X’s and O’s. Click on the link and scroll down toward the bottom to find the pattern. This is a great pattern for using up the scrappy fabrics you have.
2025 Project Quilt UFO
I am playing with a couple of options for the coming year. If you have ideas on how to make it a bit more fun, please let me know. It is nice to not feel so overwhelmed with projects, but I think it will always be a struggle for me. I LOVE starting new projects.
