January Quilt UFOs and WIPs
This month is starting great for Quilt UFOs and WIPs, even though I got lucky with an easy first pull from the jar. The second project for January will be machine quilting. It is time to finally finish the quilt that has been on the machine for months.
Machine Quilting Project
While waiting for some time to work on the machine quilting, I might as well fill bobbins. This quilt (X’s and O’s) was created with mostly my hand-dyed fabrics. You can find the pattern I used through the link above on the Scrappy Patterns Page. To the right is a graphic showing the layout that I used.
I will use an all-over meander with a variegated fall-colored thread for the quilting. I have found with the scrappy quilts that I love the quilting done in a variegated thread. It tends to blend better without worrying about all the different colors.
Scrappy Patterns
Even though I am trying to finish projects, I am also working on scrappy patterns to add to the website. Throughout the last year, I have been able to get my fabric under control. I still have plenty of fat quarters, but they are all easily accessible. I must admit that I ordered some neutral fabrics because I have used most of my stash over the last 12 months.
Weekend Quilting Goals for Quilt UFOs and WIPS
In addition to the machine quilting, I need to get caught up on the Old Town Mystery. This is the first Bonnie Mystery I have participated in. It is nice to get creative with a pattern I didn’t design. If you are interested in Bonnie’s mystery, you need to do it sooner rather than later.
2025 QWT Mystery Quilt – this weekend, I will focus on the next installment that will be posted in two weeks. I am loving the way it has turned out. Seeing your results as we work our way through it will be exciting. Please be sure to print off the installments as they become available. The pattern will be available free for a short time after the reveal.
