Sunday Sew Day – Hello October Quilt UFO

Hello, October Quilt UFO – Welcome to my Sunday Sew Day

Quilt UFO BusterSunday Sew Day

Well, it is that time again – Quilt UFO Buster time. Today’s Sunday Sew Day means it is time for the October number to be drawn. I also have to acknowledge I didn’t finish my project this month. I have all the big machine quilting done – YES!!! But I have the rest of the peel-back to do. I have completed 9 out of the 28 stars. Then, it will be time to add the binding. So, part of my October focus will also be on finishing this one.

Happy Accident?!?

I have to admit that I chose the wrong peel-back project for September. I was at the frustrated part of it when I realized that. So, guess what is on the big machine right now? The project that was supposed to be finished in September. Thank goodness I finished all of the peeled-back areas of that one! Happy accident, I’m not so sure, but if I can have a productive month, I will consider it one. Ultimately, I can’t start my actual October Project until I finish what is on the machine.

October’s Project Number is 7

My project this month is a large king-sized quilt that needs to be machine quilted. It will go on our bed for a while but then go in the motor home when we open it again in the spring. I will be glad to finish this one, although it will take some time due to the size of it.

It is time to start preparing for next year’s UFO projects. I am open to ideas of what you would like to accomplish. Let me know if there is something you would like to focus on for 2024. It is always helpful to share ideas. We could choose different size projects each month, different color focus projects, or something else… I would love to hear your thoughts on what you want to see.

Scrappy Patterns to Continue

I will be playing catch-up on posting scrappy patterns once things settle down, hopefully by the end of the month. This is a reminder that the Monthly Row by Row pattern will start in January. It is meant to be scrappy, but I will provide fabric amounts if you need to purchase fabrics.

Want to stay updated on the Quilt UFO Project?

I would love to hear about the project you want to work on this month. Take a minute to join the Facebook page. Let us be a support system for finishing projects. If you put a project down because you ran into issues, share it with the group. I am sure a solution to the problem can be found.

Feel free to comment below or share on my Facebook page. I will do an update post throughout the month to share my progress.

Until next time.
