Worktable Wednesday: Jack’s Chain

9-Patches Continuing for this Worktable Wednesday

Worktable Wednesday9-PatchJack's Chain

I just wanted to touch base about what I am working on for this Worktable Wednesday. The 9-Patch units for Jack’s Chain will probably be on my worktable for a while. I normally don’t have time to play in the sewing room on Wednesday, but I was blessed with an hour of time, and of course, I made good use of it.

Jack’s Chain Chaos

Because I am trying to be a bit more fussy with this scrap quilt, there seems to be a bit more chaos. Oh, well, what’s a little more chaos in a pretty chaotic season right now? The goal is to make as many unique strip sets as I can. This should help with color arrangement and movement throughout the quilt. It is definitely not how I usually create the scrappy quilts. In general, I tend to just pull colors out of the box, and as long as they aren’t the same color family, I go with it. We will see if the effort was worth it at the end of the project.

9-Patch Center Units

Little by little, I am piling up the center part of the 9-Patches. There are enough center units for 322 9-Patches. I am about halfway there with the top and bottom units. However, if my calculations are correct, I will need a total of 540 9-Patches. Ultimately, this will not be a quick project. Nevertheless, I will enjoy the project as it keeps my brain busy.

Worktable Wednesday

Hopefully, this evening, I can squeeze in a couple of machine quilting rows for this month’s UFO. I have another quilt waiting in the background, so it is important for me to be productive.

What are you working on this Wednesday? Feel free to share what you are working on in the comment area or on my Facebook page under the post of Worktable Wednesday.

Until next time.
