How Does Worktable Wednesday Look for You
This week, my Worktable Wednesday starts with a big Grammy mug of chai and ginger tea. An extra strong mug of tea helps when you feel a bit under the weather. There will be a fair amount of rest between the chores I want to finish both in and out of the sewing room.
Today, I will work on the foundation piecing units. I finished three this morning, and it is a good start. Now, I need to fit those other chores in between units.
List of Chores
BOBBINS – My sewing room chores usually consist of winding bobbins for both machines, so I am all set for the projects I want to work on. It is frustrating when I run out of bobbins when I am focused and motivated on a project. It helps to have few expectations today but prepare for the week.
SCRAPS – If there is time later in the day, I must organize the scraps left over from the two Foundation Piecing Projects. Yesterday, I dumped out the bin they were in; I used the bin to organize the toys for the grandkids. So many scrap fabrics call to be added to a quilt!
PRESSING –This type of day usually includes pressing. I don’t have the motivation to sit still for a long time, but pressing while watching a movie will suit my mood today. I set a few projects aside, and the pieces needed pressing.
MACHINE MAINTENANCE – If I need to take a break from foundation piecing, I will clean my machine quickly in the bobbin area. I am trying to make this more of a habit after working on projects.
This Worktable Wednesday should be productive. There are plenty of things to work on! Before uploading this post, I focused on more foundation piecing. The pieces in the yellow rectangle are all that I have left. They are more tedious, but it sure helps the motivation when you see that is all you have left.
Today’s motivation is completing October’s Quilt UFO for foundation piecing and November. Who knows what else I can finish? It is still early in the day. Either way, I am pleased with what I have accomplished so far. One advantage to not being able to sleep in anymore.
Worktable Wednesday
What are you working on today? Is there a project you’ve been putting off or one that just needs a bit more to be completed? That makes me think that I should grab the quilts that need bindings. But it will be more productive if I focus on one thing at a time. There is no need to add to my list.
What’s Coming Ahead
- Mystery Quilt
- I am still working on the mystery quilt for the coming year. Scroll to the bottom of the page to sign up for post notifications. You can also join the Quilting With Tamara Facebook page.
- 2025 Quilt UFOs
- Start thinking about what Quilt UFOs you want to work on in the new year. I am still contemplating what I want to work on. Let me know if you have any suggestions.
I am sure there are other things I should be working on for the new year. Just a reminder to print off the installments for the Row by Row Sampler. The directions will be coming off the website in the new year.
Until next time.
